SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

About the Award

A lack of mental health clinicians trained in maternal mental health has been identified in our region. To improve the current system of care and support for area women and their families who are at risk for experiencing perinatal mental health issues, the PPMHC has decided to fund perinatal mental health training for local clinicians.

The Pentucket Moms Provider Scholarship award comes from fundraising efforts in support of the Pentucket Perinatal Mental Health Coalition (PPMHC). The PPMHC is a grassroots community organization started in August, 2015, servicing the towns of Amesbury, Boxford, Haverhill, Georgetown, Groveland, Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport, Salisbury and West Newbury. The mission of the PPMHC is to improve maternal emotional health in the Pentucket area through education, collaboration, support and advocacy.

The scholarship will cover the cost of a Postpartum Support International 2-Day Perinatal Mood Disorders (PMD) Components of Care Training ($425 value), being held online and in person on various dates (your choice). It will not cover time to take the course or travel expenses. The training provides 16 CE hours. You can also choose to take the MMH Online Certificate Course with 2020Mom ($500 value), if available, which occurs on Mondays for 8 months starting every September. Advanced Psychotherapy and Psychopharmacology courses might also be covered; please inquire directly to Beth Brown about this possibility. All courses must be completed within one year of receiving the grant.
